Don’t forget our April meeting on Monday 8th April. This promises to be a great evening with Michael and Robert Pumfrey talking about their family steam business.
“One Hundred Gold Sovereigns” tells the story of the gamble made by Emily Pumfrey to withdraw 100 gold sovereigns from her Co-Op savings account for the deposit needed to purchase a steam engine, drum and elevator. From this the firm of C. R. Pumfrey came into being and Michael will tell us their story.
See you at the Angel, Woolhampton, Berks from 1930pm
