Thanks to all who came and supported the first TVTEC spring gathering, it was lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves despite the very non-spring like weather.
With three engines in steam and vintage tractors and other vehicles on show there was plenty to see, though undoubtedly the star of the show was the Fowler T3 8 Ton steam roller No. 17950 in steam for the first time in 52 years! Set up for visitors to see in a timeless fashion, its original paint work with oil, road grime and shiny brass, it looked just like it did in its last days of work. Parked up next to a roller van complete with drivers bicycle and wash stand, this even had dirty water in like the driver had just had a wash! It truly was a perfect photographic scene for those hoping to recreate the past.
A special thanks goes to Richard Hazell and his steam gang for hosting the event and to club Chairman Ewen and club Secretary Carole Davies who made sure everyone was well fed and watered during the event.
