2018 Spring Gathering a Great Success!

Thanks to all who came and supported the first TVTEC spring gathering, it was lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves despite the very non-spring like weather.

With three engines in steam and vintage tractors and other vehicles on show there was plenty to see, though undoubtedly the star of the show was the Fowler T3 8 Ton steam roller No. 17950 in steam for the first time in 52 years! Set up for visitors to see in a timeless fashion, its original paint work with oil, road grime and shiny brass, it looked just like it did in its last days of work. Parked up next to a roller van complete with drivers bicycle and wash stand, this even had dirty water in like the driver had just had a wash! It truly was a perfect photographic scene for those hoping to recreate the past.

A special thanks goes to Richard Hazell and his steam gang for hosting the event and to club Chairman Ewen and club Secretary Carole Davies who made sure everyone was well fed and watered during the event.

February Meeting News

Hi All TVTEC members,

If the recent weather has been getting you down then we might have the perfect way to perk you up! For the next club meeting on February 12th we have a wonderful film show of previously unseen Cine footage of rallies from 1965-1980. If that wasn’t enough to entice you out, we have also arranged for this film show to be held in the Englefield Club house function room, in the warm, with comfortable chairs and you’ll be able to bring your refreshments in to the show too!

We really hope you can make this not to be missed show, also if you know someone who might also like the show/would like to join TVTEC then why not invite them along too. The membership secretary will be on hand and very happy to welcome new members.

Don’t forget the club merchandise, we still have a selection of  TVTEC clothing that will be available for purchase at the February meeting. Also there are the last few Club 2018 calendars left, these will be on special offer of £3 each, so grab one before they’re all gone. If you can’t make the meeting but would like a calendar/item of clothing do email us and reserve one.

See you on the 12th Feb, 7:30pm Englefield Social Club.
